FILTER CLOTH MANUFACTURING FOR LIQUID/SOLID SEPARATION

As with other forms of filtration, this particular branch covers an enormous range of applications, processes and equipment.

Our particular expertise is in the media selection and fabrication techniques for filter cloths for use on filter presses and other related equipment in particular applications.

Some of the more common applications are in the treatment of sewage, the dewatering of ceramic clays, coal preparation, and many different chemical processes.

The sourcing and selection of the correct medias is probably the most important and difficult aspect of the filter cloth fabrication industry to master, for the range of machinery and the fabrication techniques are relatively straight forward, and the rudiments of assembly can be quickly taught/learned with very little in the way of wastage.

Very fortunately, because of the nature of filter presses, it is fairly simple to test individual new cloths or fabrics for release or filtration characteristics prior to installing complete (often exceedingly expensive) sets of filter cloths.

It is of course, absolutely essential to have the correct models of the machines, for some of the fabrics are particularly heavy. Current technology is also making use of sonic and heat welding of seams etc., but it is almost always possible to get by using the regular methods.

Once the the correct medias have been selected, and the manufacturing methods learned, then much of the progress is in the creation and updating of patterns, tesing of new fabrics, and the application of new machinery as it becomes available/affordable. Also the familiarity gained when actually dealing with processes and fabrics opens the way to more confident experimentation with alternative filters such as belt filters segment filters and drum filters.

Micronair have been involved in the manufacture of filter products for more than 25 years, and have designed systems and built a range of machinery for producing the entire spectrum of filter devices used in commercial and industrial environments.

We are able to provide the expertise and know-how that will permit the manufacture of these filters, including the methodology of assembly, the supply and commissioning of specialised machinery, the sourcing and selection of the correct materials and components, and the construction of specialised laboratory equipment to test the finished products, or to conduct on-site commissioning tests.

All stages of the operation are covered by individually prepared manuals - including the various mathematical calculations required to correctly size the filters for specific applications, comprehensive lists of material and media sources, and the general assembly techniques.Additionally, we have a vast and comprehensive database covering the specifications and patterns of most filter cloths ec.. These are of course available to our clients at no extra cost, and email now means that both the written and drawn details can be readily transmitted.

Our expertise also includes several related technologies, including the manufacture of absolute (HEPA) filters, where the correct media usage and methods of fabrication are critical for satisfactory performance.

Here again, we are able to provide the sources of the materials, the detailed specifications of the major components, and individually prepared technical manuals.

Other areas of expertise include the manufacture and applications of:

HEPA filters for absolute filtration
Ceramic elements for high temperature applications
Filter sleeves, bags & elements for industrial dust control
Filters for domestic & commercial air conditioning
